  • We are always looking for new Assessors for our qualifications.

    Sava Assessors contain a mixture of active practising, semi-retired and retired surveyors who enjoy supporting and encouraging the next generation of surveyors into the industry. The role of an assessor is to review the evidence presented by a learner and make a judgement as to whether the learner has met the criteria contained within the qualification specification.

    To meet the requirements of the Awarding Body (ABBE) and RICS, all assessors must be a member of RICS and an experienced Residential Surveyor and Valuer (with at least 4 years of experience post-qualification). Full training and support are given so no prior assessing experience is necessary.

  • Being a mentor can be an incredibly rewarding experience. It provides you with the opportunity to give back to the profession and help shape the next generation of surveyors. If you are thinking of recruiting it is also a really good way to meet a potential new colleague.

    Being a mentor is flexible and can work to fit around you. Many mentors say how much they enjoy working with learners, whether out on site where they can be a useful second pair of hands or providing other services such as proofreading or desktop study. Most of the Sava learners are ‘career changers’ and have other experiences they can share with you.

    Benefits of being a mentor:

    • Learners can be of real practical assistance – helping measure a property, taking photographs on an inspection, proofreading reports etc.
    • RICS recognise mentoring as an informal CPD activity
    • It’s a great way of getting to know a learner without any long-term commitment – it may present you with a recruitment opportunity
    • It’s an opportunity to give something back to the profession
    • You can learn from them (if they have a background in marketing, could they assist with websites or email campaigns for example)
    • Sava provides full Public Liability cover.

  • Sava host an annual Residential Surveying Careers Fair. This is the only careers event in the UK which is dedicated to the residential surveying industry. The event in 2022 welcomed 37 exhibitors from a range of surveying firms to network with 400 delegates. The event also included a full technical and careers-based conference.

  • We work with employers to help them with their future growth plans, ensuring they can recruit new surveyors, as well as upskill their existing team members.

    Our Qualification for New Entrants can be used by employers to train new, future members of their team, either by sponsoring learners or putting forward non-technical members of existing staff onto our qualification programme.
